Four priorities Joel Campos will bring to the Stanislaus Unified School Board.
Stronger classrooms, greater student achievement, and the resources teachers need to stay and succeed.
Students learn best when teachers have what they need and classrooms are stable. Joel will push for competitive resources and support that help Stanislaus Union Elementary School Board attract and keep great teachers, so students see fewer mid-year staffing changes and more consistent instruction.
He’ll advocate for strong reading and math foundations in the early grades, expanded tutoring and intervention support for students who are falling behind, and a School Board that listens to teachers about what actually works in their classrooms not just what looks good on paper.
Strong emergency preparedness, real accountability for student discipline, and a School Board member who has teachers’ backs.
Every family should know their child’s school has a real, practiced emergency plan not just one that exists on paper. Joel will push for regular drills, clear communication protocols, and campuses that are secure without feeling like a lockdown.
He also believes discipline policy has to mean something. Teachers need to know that when they refer a serious behavior issue, it will be taken seriously and followed through and that the School Board has their back when they’re trying to keep a classroom safe for everyone in it.
Nearly four years of bond oversight experience and a commitment to making every dollar count.
Joel has spent nearly four years on the district’s Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee, including as Chair, reviewing how bond dollars are spent and holding contractors and the district to the budgets and timelines voters were promised.
On the School Board, he’ll bring that same discipline to every dollar the district spends asking hard questions, expecting clear public reporting, and making sure taxpayer and bond money goes where it was promised: into classrooms, safety, and student outcomes.
A veteran, former district student, current district parent, and Latino Community Roundtable member who is deeply rooted in this community.
Joel isn’t a newcomer to this district he’s a product of it. He attended Stanislaus Elementary and Prescott Jr. High, and today his own children are enrolled in Stanislaus Unified schools. This community isn’t an abstraction to him; it’s home.
As a veteran, a parent, and a member of the Latino Community Roundtable, he shows up at games, at back-to-school nights, at community meetings and he’ll bring that same presence and accessibility to the School Board, making sure every family in Area 1 has someone who will listen.
These are the priorities Joel will bring to every meeting, every budget decision, and every conversation with families and teachers in Area 1.
